In the ring of post war expansion in the western suburban area this home has been enlarged and adapted several times.  Although it sits on a promontory, its overall style and character have not been resolved into a perceivable clarity.

Our Architectural mission, was to compact a concise vision of the existing building with the second floor, is to be remediated and restyled to increase the visual dynamic of its favorable site.  Through the projecting sill courses, extended and exposed roof framing, a delicate separation and deception of layering is achieved in the same fashion, the use of open balcony and protected trellised spaces create outdoor spaces extended from within.

Prairie School aesthetics are used intentionally to increase the stretched floating free spirit of exclosure, special release to the landforms.  Another addition has been contemplated in this rejuvenation process, to include a suite over the storage garage.  For now, the realization of the 4,000 square roof home transformation seems of an impact magnitude greater than its actual size.
