The cobbled landscape of the pre-fire Gold Coast neighborhood in Chicago has been a source of prospect and inspiration for far more than a century. We find solace in preserving buildings of this archetype by breathing new life into them through inventive workings of material and lighting.

By embracing   the character of this 100 year old carriage house and infusing contemporary design vocabularies, a warming combination of wood, stone, and glass revives aesthetic values from centuries past. Classic wood detailing comes alive, subtle diffuse ,natural lighting brings warmth and elegance to the 4 story 2,400 square foot refuge.

Exotic stone kitchen and erotic bathroom amenities are worked together to compliment the historic vernacular. The solidity of the original building is castled with the fragility of block glass, iridescent glass, mosaic tile glass, mirrored glass and historic stained art glass.
